Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal yoga classes are more popular than ever. When paired with a cardiovascular exercise such as walking, yoga can be an ideal way to stay in shape during your pregnancy. This age-old practice keeps you limber, tones your muscles, and improves your balance and circulation, with little, if any, impact on your joints.

Linking yoga postures with the breath will lead you to new discoveries, bringing awareness to your spirit, mind and body, and also the spirit of your baby soon to be born. Our program, is conducted in a peaceful environment.
Yoga can also alleviate many of the discomforts due to pregnancy such as nausea, constipation, varicose veins, swelling, back pain and sciatica.

The benefits of yoga aren’t limited to your physical well-being. “Taking a prenatal yoga class is a great way to meet other pregnant women — to become part of a community,” Being in a positive, supportive environment with others like you can give you a regular emotional boost and keep you motivated to continue exercising.

The Mayo Clinic explains that regular exercise has benefits, which includes improving mood, energy and sleep. There is no reason not to take advantage of these benefits while you’re pregnant. In fact, exercise during pregnancy can reduce problems like bloating, constipation and backaches. Yoga is an excellent exercise choice for pregnant women.

Classes are open to healthy pregnant women in the 2nd and 3rd trimester. If you are not currently practicing yoga regularly, please refrain from starting classes until your 2nd trimester (12 weeks). If you have a history of miscarriage or have been through fertility treatments, it is recommended that you wait until 16 weeks to start a yoga practice.
